Oregano Essential Oil vs. The Common Wart

Posted on

Common WartWhat is a common wart?  Common warts are small, grainy, and rough skin growths that occur most often on your fingers, hands, and feet.  Common warts may also feature a pattern of tiny black dots — sometimes called seeds — which are tiny, clotted blood vessels.

What causes a common wart?  Common warts are caused by an HPV virus and are transmitted by touch.  Children and young adults are more likely to develop common warts, as are people who have weakened immune systems.

“We all come in contact with the virus throughout our lives, such as when shaking hands, turning doorknobs, or typing on keyboards.” says dermatologist Conway Huang, MD, an associate professor of dermatologic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Scientists have identified more than 100 unique types of the virus and most people will have at least one common wart at some time in their lives.

In February 2016, I broke out with a severe case of shingles on the right side of my face, followed by chronic hives that covered over eighty percent of my body.  About a month after things seemed to have calmed down with the exception of an unsightly growth the size of a pea that appeared just below my wrist.  In less than a month, it doubled in size.  Come to find out it was a common wart.

After three weeks of treating it every day with CompoundW with no results I resorted to using – an over the counter  – cryotherapy to freeze the nasty thing off.  The pharmacist and package stated it should only take 2 to 3 treatment to kill the virus, but after completely using the entire container of liquid nitrogen which was over 30 treatments this annoying wart was still staking claim to my wrist.

Learning it would cost a few hundred dollars to have it surgically removed by a dermatologist I thought I would give my essential oils a try first.  That is when I discovered that Oregano essential oil would soon be my liquid hero.  Within one week of applying 1 drop 3 times a day, the wart reduced to half the size.  Two weeks later it was no longer raised above the skin and four weeks it was practically gone.

I am excited to report that my wrist is wart free, not to mention the oregano essential oil did not stink like the CompoundW, nor did it hurt like the cryotherapy.  It just killed the virus!
