Principle 4: Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust. Happy are the pure in heart. Matthew 5:8
Step 5: We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being that exact nature of our wrongs. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16
Lesson 12 – Highlights:
Confess our shortcoming, God wants to forgive and heal you
Obey God’s instruction, confess to God and someone you trust
No more guilt, we can begin to fix our eye forward instead of on our past sin
Face the truth, it is time for the truth and it shall set you free
Ease the pain, we are only as sick as our darkest secret
Stop the blame game, we cannot find freedom as long as we blame others
Start accepting God’s forgiveness, allow for new eyes and new beginnings
This is where I began to see the light at the end of my tunnel and feel peace on my healing journey. My secrets could no longer be held as leverage or blackmail of which was mostly self-imposed. Click on my podcast below so we can begin to answer these questions and embark on the next phase of this journey.
Lesson 12 – Questions:
What wrongs, resentments, or secret sins are keeping you awake at night? Wouldn’t you like to get rid of them?
What value do you see in confessing, in coming clean of the wreckage of your past?
As you obey God’s direction for confession, what results do you expect God to produce in your life?
What freedom do you feel because of the words of Romans 8:1 and Romans 3:23-24? What specifically does the phrase “not guilty” mean to you?
After you complete Principle 4, you will find four areas of your life begin to improve. You will be able to face the truth, ease the pain, stop the blame, and start accepting God’s forgiveness. In what areas of your life will each of these positive changes help your recovery?
